Born in London, England 1970, Barton moved to Norway with his family in 1971.
He studied at the
Oslo National Academy of the Arts (KHIO), from 1991-1996 and has since alsobeen a guest teacher there.

Barton has exhibited five larger collections of his works abroad and in Norway, most recently in 2008 at
Galleri Ramfjord, in 2006 at Blomqvist Auction House in Oslo and in 2003/4 at Cultuurcentrum Knokke Heist in Belgium. Barton has also exhibited with group exhibitions in Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, China and the USA.

His works can be found in several private and corporate collections and may also be seen in Copenhagen at the design hotel
Skt Petri.
The sculpture
Koyangwuti was recently purchased for the planed sculpture park at Ekeberg in Oslo.

Barton has received several State and private art grants since 1996.

Barton has also worked on two net-based projects:
Barton founded the net based art site,
Artoslo.com in 2000, focusing on Oslo based artists.
In 2006 he launched
www.PayPerSin.com, offering sin relief to the agnostic.

Barton is currently working on several larger and smaller sculptures for upcoming exhibitions.
